Renee came to Cascade Publications in January of 2011 after many years of travel and outdoor adventure. After graduating from Bradley University with a degree in advertising and graphic design, she joined the Peace Corps and worked as a health and education volunteer in a remote village of Burkina Faso, West Africa. Even though she enjoyed living without computers, running water or electricity for two years, Renee decided to return to the design industry and pursue a graduate degree in Museum Exhibition Design at the University of London. At the completion of her studies, she moved across the world to Portland, Oregon. A thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2006 shifted Renee’s career focus to the outdoor industry, and she found herself in a variety of positions including leading trail crews in Colorado, guiding hikes around Oregon, and working with a local Wilderness Therapy organization, Second Nature. Renee has decided to officially enjoy the outdoors on her own terms and time off, and returned to the design industry as Art Director at Cascade Publications. She is excited to become part of the arts community and explore Central Oregon.
