Art Walk Returns to Redmond

The Redmond Downtown Association announce that Art Walk is returning to Redmond.  This free event will take place on December 9 from 5-8pm at participating Downtown Redmond merchants.  Billed as Winter Art Walk, the event’s name suggests a quarterly occurrence.

Judi Williamson of Judi’s Art Gallery located on NE Hemlock is the organizer of the event, , is hopeful that it will bring in high-attendance.

Said Williamson, “We’re adding a twist to the fun, so I’m hoping we get a lot of participation.  Then we can look at the feasibility of doing it again in spring.”

Winter Art Walk is a combination of art, wine travel.  Participants wishing to be a part of a drawing can pick up “passports” at the Redmond Public Library located at 827 NW Deschutes Avenue on the day of the event starting at 5pm.  The library will have art on display as part of their monthly gallery.

Then from there, it’s a free for all.  The passport includes a map of participating Downtown merchants that the “art tourists” will get stamped at each business.  The event continues until 8pm at the end of the evening, wherever the participant ends their tour, they submit their passport to the merchant for a drawing to be held within the next few days after all the entries have been gathered up.
“I’m donating one of my original works,” said Williamson.  “What a great Christmas gift it will make for someone.”
