Summit High School Theatre Department and the High Desert Museum collaborate on finding unexpected inspiration in the economic hardships of the 1930’s. Summit High School Theatre Department will perform a play based on John Steinbeck’s classic novel, The Grapes of Wrath, during the launch of the High Desert Museum exhibit “Art for a Nation: Inspiration from the Great Depression.”

This Saturday, April 16th from 11am-7pm, Desperado is having denim fit expert Kaitlin Moor back to help women find the perfect fitting jeans.  Kaitlin is from LA and is a denim fit expert with Dear John.  It’s a super fun afternoon with lots of women trying on lots of great jeans!  Jeans run between $79-$99 so they’re not super spendy and there will be lots of choose from on Saturday.  Of course, we’ll have libations and for a special treat – Jennifer Anderson of Allora jewelry will be at the store with her new Spring Line of incredible jewelry.

We’d like to share information about our upcoming Spring Concert this April 24th at 2pm. Location is Cascade Middle School 19619 SW Mountaineer Way [off Mt. WashingtonDr.] Come have fun with COCO, the Community Orchestra of Central Oregon. Led by conductor Sam Taylor , there will be music for a variety of tastes: from Ellington, Mozart, Friedrich Witt, Leroy Anderson and The Sound of Music. Plenty of parking and no charge for attending.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, Soroptimist International of Bend and C.O.’s Oregonians Against Trafficking Humans (OATH) will host a free, public forum on the topic of human trafficking at St Charles meeting rooms A & B, from 6-8 PM. All are welcome to attend and learn more about what is being done and needs to be done to stop this invisible crime against humanity – human trafficking. “The Forum Against Human Trafficking” features two speakers:
