Deep Winter Art Show & Community Supper

Central Oregon Locavore announces its third annual Deep Art and Community Supper. Local artists Andrew Barnes and Kennan Branch will showcase their deep art at this Deep Winter Community Supper featuring a multi-course gluten-free meal, wine, beer and free childcare on February 1.

Both artists delve deep into the details of landscapes and animals with pieces that, while intrinsically natural and earthy in concept, still evoke something otherworldly. Their pieces will be on display throughout Locavore’s community gathering room and storefront for guests to enjoy before and after the sumptuous meal created with foods from Liberty Farm, Fields Farm, Tender Greens, Cada Dia and White Beef Ranch.

Diners will experience these fresh, local foods served family style in dishes such as pumpkin carrot cream soup, chicken apple sausages with yam mustard, beef or veggie shepherds pie, roasted beet green salad, and butterscotch gelato. Tickets to the event are $30, or $10 for children under 12.

locavoreLocavore offers four community suppers each year, one for each season. The suppers are just one of the ways the organization works to educate the community about the benefits of sustainably produced foods. In addition, Locavore runs six other economic development and volunteer programs to support the development of the local food scene. Each program advances Locavore’s goal to promote a more ecologically and socially just food system that supports greater community wellness, public health and diversification of the local economy.
