Edgar Allan Poe Performs at the Tower Theatre One-Night Only on October 28

Alastair Jaques as Poe is a power-house performance.

The Des Shutes Historical Museum, The Tower Theatre Foundation and Lenore Productions are proud to announce the sixth year of An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe will take place at the Tower Theatre on Sunday, October 28 at 7pm.

The event, which benefits the Des Chutes Historical Museum and the Tower Theatre Foundation, features Mr. Edgar Allan Poe reading and discussing his works with the audience, a role brought vividly to life by Bend actor Alastair Jacques. The program lasts approximately two hours, including a short intermission, and features both famous and lesser known pieces from the American poet. It ends with a question and answer session for the audience to quiz Poe about his works.

“This is our sixth year with Edgar Allan Poe. Alastair Jaques as Poe is such a power-house performance, it is a natural progression that the show has grown to the point of needing the Tower Theatre to host,” explained Des Chutes Historical Museum Director Kelly Cannon-Miller. “What I love most about the show is the information about Poe that you learn in-between the readings. He was more than just the morbid, troubled poet he is perceived as.”

Tickets will be sold at the Tower Theatre box office and online at towertheatre.org. Seating is general admission. Tickets are $14 plus a $1 Historic Theatre Restoration Fee.

Information is available at both www.towertheatre.org and www.deschuteshistory.org.
