Millie’s Chili is back! Join us November 10 – 11 for our annual fall fundraiser. Delicious chili, wonderful homemade baked goods like your grandma used to make, and a fun raffle all help support the Deschutes County Historical Society. Millie’s Chili is made with locally sourced Barley Beef from Rastovich Farms, a 99 year old family run farm here in Deschutes County.
The Heritage Fair offers free genealogy presentations and research assistance for those thinking about getting started and those advanced family historians looking for new tips and tricks. Our featured presenter is Lisa McCullough, a genetic genealogist, who offers tips on ordering and understanding genealogy DNA tests. Supported by the Bend Genealogy Society, other topics include how to research through the Deschutes Public Library, understanding census records and more. Presentations are 30 minutes or less leaving lots of time for Q & A. The event is from 11:00 am -3:00 pm both days.
