Crooked River Open Pasture’s Farmer’s Market, Timber to Table Tour, with fun activities for the entire family.

Enjoy scenic views and fresh country air as you stroll through an on-site Farmer’s Market. Choose from a variety of locally sourced products from C.R.O.P farmers and ranchers, including all-natural meats, cheese, fresh produce and eggs to artisan furniture gift items and crafts for all ages.
Wine Down Ranch will be hosting a “Timber to Table” tour, led by owner and professional Forester, Roy Beyer. During the 90-minute tour, Roy will explain the sustainable logging practices he uses on the 2,100 acre ranch. Participants will visit timber stands in various stages of harvest. Featured demonstrations take you through the harvest process, from falling a standing tree to cutting logs into boards on a portable saw mill, into finished furniture. Local artisan Matt Vaughn will be displaying and selling his furniture made from Central Oregon wood, and available to speak about his process.
Forestry tours will depart at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m, and include a ride into the active timber stand, lasting approximately 90 minutes.
Ranch guests can also partake in activities such as practicing their roping skills, competing a friendly game of horseshoes or hiking in the hills. For the youngest guests, there will be face painting and horse visits in the barn.
Local farmers and artists scheduled to appear include: Creative Designs, Flying Pig Farm, Smudgie Goose Farm, Dancing Cow Farm, Windy Acres Dairy, Bluestone Gardens, Wine Down Ranch, Cada Dia Cheese.
Sponsored by High Desert Food and Farm Alliance and Brasada Ranch.
