The Sierra-Nevada, or montane fox is a rare, native subspecies of red fox
that lives in the mountains of California and Oregon. Until recently, their
existence in Oregon’s Cascade Mountains was unknown. Learn about the
U.S. Forest Service and High Desert Museum’s collaborative effort to investigate
this species and other rare Cascade carnivores by visiting remote camera sites
with a HDM biologist.
