Fermentation Celebration in Old Mill District

The Old Mill District will host Central Oregon’s 2nd Annual Fermentation Celebration on June 20 from 5-10pm. The event pays homage to the region’s booming craft beer culture and celebrates Oregon Craft Brewers Month by offering samples from our local breweries at participating shops and restaurants.

“The Craft brew culture adds an economic vitality to our region that we shouldn’t underestimate,” said Noelle Fredland, marketing director for the Bend, Oregon lifestyle center. “We’re happy to bring back this wonderful event in June, as a kick off for Craft Beer Month and as complement and precursor to the upcoming annual Bend Brewfest coming up in August. Cheers!”

fermentationEntry to the event is free. Those who wish to partake in beverages pay $20, which includes drink tickets and a commemorative Fermentation Celebration Silipint. Silipints are 100% food grade silicone, BPA free, insulates for hot and cold, unbreakable fun. The Silipints will be available from 10am until 9pm on June 20 at the Ticket Mill. Each beverage will be served at select locations within the Old Mill District, and participants in the event will walk around with their Fermentation Celebration Silipints to partake in samples.

Each of the participating breweries will provide samples of a beer that is unique, limited or experimental – the Fermentation Celebration may be the only chance to try some of these beers. Participants include 10 Barrel Brewing, The Ale Apothecary, Below Grade Brewing, Bend Brewing Company, Boneyard Beer, Cascade Lakes Brewing, Crux Fermentation Project, Deschutes Brewery, GoodLife Brewing, Brew Werks Brewing, Silver Moon Brewing, Shade Tree, Rat Hole Brewing, Phat Matt’s Brewing, Worthy Brewing, Sunriver Brewing, McMenamin’s Brewery, Bend Brewing Company, Central Oregon Homebrewers and Three Creeks Brewery. There may even be some surprise alternative beverage options available at the event.

The evening event will have live entertainment in Center Plaza with Truck Stop Gravy at 6pm and Cody Bebee and the Crooks at 7:30pm. This event is organized in partnership with Deschutes Brewery, the Bend Brewfest and The Central Oregon Brewer’s Guild.
