NeighborImpact Hosts Pottery Games Throw-A-Thon

NeighborImpact, with  the  support  from the Clay Guild of the Cascades,  announces the 2nd Annual Pottery Games Throw-A-Thon Saturday, August 27, 12-4pm at Cindercone Clay Center.

This fun, family-friendly event includes a frenzy of bowl throwing by local artists.  Potters will come together to throw hundreds of bowls that will be used during NeighborImpact’s annual Empty Bowls fundraiser in November.

“More than 750 bowls are needed for our Empty Bowls fundraiser each year as each attendee receives a bowl at the event to take home,” says Bill Kemp, development director at NeighborImpact. “We really could not provide such beautiful, hand-made bowls without the help of local potters.”

The Empty Bowls event raises much needed funds for NeighborImpact’s Emergency Food Assistance Program.   The 2015, the Empty Bowls event raised enough money to leverage over 60,000 meals and an “empty bowl” serves as a reminder of how many individuals face hunger on a daily basis.
