Don’t Miss CTC’s A Christmas Story

Cascades Theatrical Company presents A Christmas Story by Philip Grecian, Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Bob Clark . Don’t miss your opportunity to buy raffle tickets for a chance to win the Leg Lamp that will be featured in the show.

The show is directed by E. Dee Torrey, assisted by Audrey Colton Smith. The talented local cast that features actors ages 6 to 65 includes: Laura Lee Callan, Michael Coffman,  Craig Dennis, Caleb Devenny, Tatum Elshire, Kenny Fothergill, Danny Freitas, Samantha Freitas, Will Futterman,  Rya Higgins,  Godfrey Jacobson,  Tanner Lussier, Leah Mahaffey, Erik McGinnis, Carter Miller, Jolie Miller, Hannah Starr and  James Verheyden.

Based on the motion picture A Christmas Story, the play brings humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s to life as it follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas.  Ralphie’s pleas all engender the same response:  “You’ll shoot your eye out.”  All of the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including: Scut Farkas, the school bully; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie’s father winning a lamp shaped like a woman’s leg in a net stocking; Ralphie’s fantasy scenarios and more.

Thru December 11, Wed-Sat, 7:30pm, Sun, 2pm. $20 Adult/$15 Senior (60 and over)/$12 Student (age 6 and up).  www.cascadestheatrical.org. 541-389-0803.
