Pirates of Penzance Sails into Bend this April

piratesBEAT announces its latest production by Gilbert and Sullivan opening April 19. With 35 actors ranging in age from 6  to 21 in the production, this entertaining, wacky play features sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General. It is suitable for all ages.    

Pirates of Penzance runs April 19 through April 28 at COCC’s Pinckney Theater, and is directed by Jimena Shepherd, herself a BEAT alum. The show is choreographed by BEAT co-founder Mary Kilpatrick.

The BEAT production of Pirates of Penzance has two casts – nicknamed Gilbert and Sullivan – with the four principal parts double cast. The dates for the public performances are:

• April 19 7pm – Gilbert
• April 20 2pm – Sullivan
• April 20 7pm – Gilbert
• April 21 2pm – Sullivan
• April 26 7pm – Sullivan
• April 27 2pm – Gilbert
• April 27 7pm – Sullivan
• April 28 2pm – Gilbert

Tickets are available now at beattickets.org and the prices are $15 for adults and seniors; $10 for 18 and under.
