December Red Chair Proceeds to Benefit Bethlehem Inn

During the holidays artist members and gallery will donate ten percent of December’s proceeds to the Bethlehem Inn, Central Oregon’s only emergency shelter serving adults and families experiencing homelessness in Central Oregon.

The Red Chair Gallery has had a successful first year, much of which is due to the encouragement of the community and the dedicated work of its Partner Owners and Member Artists.

Rita Dunlavy, the gallery’s finance director, says she and her partners (Dee McBrien-Lee, Linda Heisserman and Lise Hoffman-McCabe) feel very fortunate to have developed, managed and grown their business at a time when many companies are struggling to stay afloat. “We would be remiss in ignoring this or taking our good luck for granted. We look forward to making this contribution to the Bethlehem Inn an annual tradition of the gallery.”

The Red Chair Gallery is a membership gallery with more than 30 local and Oregon artists located in downtown Bend. It is open seven days a week.  All artwork is original and includes paintings, ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, photography, fiber arts, glass and mosaics.

Red Chair Enhances Healing Environment at St. Charles

In an effort to create a better healing environment for its patients, St. Charles Cancer Center in Bend recently repainted its Chemotherapy Infusion Room and — with the help of Red Chair Gallery artists — adorned its walls with original works of art.

When St. Charles Cancer Center contacted the Red Chair Gallery last summer, the artists responded enthusiastically and provided enough original paintings to decorate the Chemotherapy Infusion Room and other parts of the St. Charles Cancer Center.

“Our Chemotherapy Infusion Room was in need of a face lift,” said Allison McCormick, director of the St. Charles Cancer Center of Care. “Thanks to the generosity of the Red Chair Gallery artists, we have transformed what was a sterile room into a warm, healing environment. The artwork really made a difference.”

All works are available for sale and the artists have each agreed that ten percent of any proceeds generated through sales will be donated back to the St. Charles Cancer Center.  Works will be rotated several times through the year.
