A Bronze Sculpture in the Making
Joren Traveller recently demonstrated her sculpturing techniques at the Ambiance Co-op open house. She is shown here creating an owl in clay. Traveller is an accomplished equestrian, artist and attended Otis Art Institute. She graduated with a degree in microbiology and animal science from Cal-Poly. While going to school she worked full time as a secretary and competed in the Olympic 3-day equestrian event selection trials.
Working, teaching and showing took up much of her time but she missed her art. After moving to Central Oregon Traveller once again began sketching, sculpting and painting. She is intrigued by texture and form and enjoys working in clay and wax to produce bronze sculptures. She tries to capture each individual creature’s personality and expression.
The sculpture Sky Watcher (a life size Peregrine Falcon) is presently being exhibited at the High Desert Museum as part of the Art of the West Show.
Traveller is showing at the Ambiance Co-op Gallery in Redmond and is the secretary of the High Desert Art League. She is also represented by Kelly’s Gallery on Main Street in Joseph, Oregon.
