Songs of Suffrage: Music That Helped Make History Highlights History Pub Fundraiser December 3

womenOn December 3, 1912, the women of Bend voted for the first time. On December 3, 2012, join the Des Chutes Historical Museum in celebration of this historic occasion with a Family and Friends Night at McMenamins Old St Francis School.  

What is a Friends and Family Night, you ask? A night on which 50 percent of the proceeds from food and drink for the evening is donated directly to the Deschutes County Historical Society! Doors open at 6pm, program begins at 7pm.  

Songs of Suffrage features local singer-songwriters performing folk songs from the Women’s Suffrage movement, 1900-1920. You can also cast your vote for the 1912 mayoral candidates and enjoy a special ale brewed for the occasion by McMenamins’ notorious brewer, Curly. This special History Pub fundraiser supports the great programming offered year round, with the evening’s proceeds donated to the Des Chutes Historical Museum. So come hungry and thirsty for this one of a kind local history event!  

Tickets $5 per person and are limited. Tickets can be purchased at the Des Chutes Historical Museum, Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4:30pm or by calling 541-389-1813 to purchase by phone.
