Summit High School Music Concert

December 12 the band, which has placed first in a state competition, performs followed by a December 19 choir concert.

 

Also mark your calendar for the Summit High School benefit concert featuring Concert Rock Violinist Aaron Meyer on February 8, 2014. All proceeds will benefit the Summit HS Music Department and Students.  

 

They are currently trying to raise funds to buy a new sound board for the auditorium. In addition, they raise funds to support music students in need of scholarships for instruments, uniforms, competition fees and some travel expenses.  

For the last three years, the Summit Winds Band has placed first in the class 5A state competition. The parent run non-profit organization is trying to ensure the inclusion of every student despite their financial situations.  

 

The Summit High School student body president, Royce Gist says, “We are not a band unless everyone can participate. Friends of Music make it possible for every student to participate.” Gist is in both the Summit Winds Band and the Skyliner Jazz Choir Group.  

Summit HS Music Department Concert Dates:   
Thursday, December 12 at 6:30pm, doors open & band concert at 7pm
Thursday, December 19 at 6:30pm, doors open & choir concert at 7pm
