Take a Walk with Sisters Quilts

sistersquiltThe Sisters Quilt Walk features quilts made by our talented Central Oregon quilters. They are on display, many for sale, in businesses that sponsor the show as a thank you to them for their support. Take a walking tour of beautiful downtown Sisters and enjoy over 100 quilts.

Or visit The Old Mill District in Bend where quilts are also exhibited in more than 20 locations. Some businesses have one quilt, some have many, and they are all fabulous. Quilt Walk brochures with a map and list of participating businesses at the Sisters Chamber 241 E. Main St., the Stitchin’ Post and participating businesses in Bend and Sisters throughout July.

The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show annually attracts people from all over the world. Since its origin 37 years ago when a few quilts were displayed outside the Stitchin’ Post quilt shop, the show has grown to feature over 1,300 quilts displayed on every downtown building. On the second Saturday of every July the town welcomes over 12,500 visitors who come for the Quilt Show.

The quilts are hung early in the morning by the Sisters Fire Department and an army of dedicated volunteers. Most are taken down that night, but there are special displays and events that carry over to the next day. The quality of the show – which boasts quilt entries from many states and even some foreign countries – has grown along with its size.  The quilts are truly a jaw-dropping exhibition of both traditional and increasingly modern styles.
