High Desert Chamber Music’s 2026-27 season, presented by Washington Trust Bank and Lynch Murphy McLane LLP, continues this weekend with the Central Oregon debut of Trio Zimbalist. This concert is brought to you by the Pine Tavern and will take place on Sunday, November 8, at 5pm, at the First Presbyterian Church. Doors open at 4pm, with a complimentary concert preview featuring the musicians beginning at 4:15pm.

The trio will also be featured at a Music & Friends event on Saturday, November 7, at 5:30pm. This signature HDCM series brings musicians and audiences together for intimate performances in private homes. Contact HDCM for information about attending.

While in Central Oregon, the musicians will also visit students at Trinity Lutheran School, giving young listeners an opportunity to experience professional chamber musicians up close. The visit is part of HDCM’s free Educational Outreach program, generously sponsored by Brooks Resources Corporation and presented in partnership with Cascade School of Music.

Trio Zimbalist came together after its members toured Europe together in 2021. As pianist George Xiaoyuan Fu recalled in a recent interview with Cascade Arts & Entertainment, “It went so well that we decided to make it a thing.” The November 8 program opens with Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2, arranged by Fu, followed by Bohuslav Martinů’s Bergerettes for Piano Trio, H. 275, and Schumann’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 63. Together, these works offer a wide-ranging showcase of the piano trio repertoire, from Ravel’s rich musical colors to Martinů’s lively rhythms and Schumann’s expressive Romantic writing.

Tickets are available through HDCM online, by phone, or in person at the HDCM office in Downtown Bend. HDCM 2026–27 title sponsors include Washington Trust Bank and Lynch Murphy McLane LLP, Mission Building, QXO (formerly Miller Lumber), German Master Tech, Pine Tavern Restaurant, Drew Family Dentistry, Cascade School of Music, Cascade A&E, Central Oregon Daily, and Newstalk KBND and 107.7 Radio.
