BOOMERCIDE: From Woodstock To Suicide

boomersideLast July Peter Levitan (former owner of Citrus, a Bend-based full advertising firm) felt compelled to write a personal book about his unique approach to retirement planning and Baby Boomers. Three months later, Boomercide: From Woodstock To Suicide is now live on Amazon.

According to Levitan, “The book details how I plan to take the guesswork out of financial planning by scheduling my own death. After all, it is the life expectancy variable that can throw all our planning out the window. Will we live to 80, 90 or 100? Can we afford to?”

But, it isn’t all about Levitan. The book goes further, discussing the financial issues facing the 76 million Baby Boomers born between 1946 and 1964, a group with a dramatically growing suicide rate.
“I also share my research on the act of suicide itself and the national issue of our retirement savings deficit, which affects all age groups,” he says. “The Employee Benefit Research Institute reported in March that 60 percent of American workers said the total value of their savings and investments is less than $25,000. Scary stuff.”
