The Central Oregon Symphony winter concerts will be held on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at the Bend High School Auditorium. There will be two performances, 2:00pm and 7:30pm and the matinee performance will be livestreamed. Tickets for the performances are limited due to ongoing pandemic protocols. More information is available via the COS website, www.cosymphony.com or by calling the COSA office at 541-317-3941. Links to the livestream will be available a few days prior to the concert date and the performance will also be directly viewable through the COS website.

The concert will feature two of our recent Young Artist Competition winners: violinist, Timothy Lee, performing Maurice Ravel’s gypsy inspired “Tzigane” and Diego Fernandez performing the first movement of New Zealand composer Anthony Ritchie’s jazz influenced “Flute Concerto”. Also on the concert are two staples of the orchestral repertoire. First is the “Symphony No. 8” by Franz Schubert. This work is well-known by its subtitle, “Unfinished”, as the composer only completed two movements (out of the traditional four) before his death. The concluding work on the concert will be the rollicking and cartoon inspiring “Overture to the Barber of Seville” by Gioachino Rossini.
