This fascinating presentation by Lead Wildlife Biologist for the Hoopa Tribe Mark Higley will describe how illegal trespass marijuana growing on public and tribal lands was discovered as a major threat to the pacific fisher, a species currently proposed for listing as Threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Following that discovery the Hoopa Tribe, along with agency partners, have taken the lead on documenting the environmental impact of these illegal operations on wildlife populations and soil and water quality.
