Music Masters: Brass Masterclass with the Oregon Brass Quintet
On April 18th at 10:00 AM, students, educators, and local musicians are invited to participate in a special brass masterclass featuring members of the Oregon Brass Quintet. This educational event offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from some of the region’s most accomplished brass performers and teachers.
The Oregon Brass Quintet has served as the faculty brass ensemble in residence at the University of Oregon since the early 1970s. Comprised of the university’s distinguished brass faculty, the ensemble has built a decades-long reputation for artistic excellence, education, and advocacy for brass chamber music. The group regularly presents clinics, educational programs, and recitals throughout the Northwestern United States and has appeared at major events such as the NAfME All‑Northwest Conference.
During this interactive masterclass, participants will explore key aspects of brass performance, including technique, tone production, ensemble playing, musical interpretation, and professional musicianship. Students will gain valuable insight and feedback from experienced performers while observing high-level coaching and discussion.
This masterclass reflects our commitment to music education and community enrichment in Central Oregon, offering an inspiring and practical learning experience for brass players of all levels.
