SUNRIVER STARS COMMUNITY THEATER TO HOST INAUGURAL VINTAGE HOLLYWOOD GALA JANUARY 23 AT CROSSWATER

Celebrating 15 Seasons of Community Theater, the Roaring ’20s-Inspired Fundraiser Will Support Future Productions and the Vision for a Permanent Home for the Stars

SUNRIVER, Ore. — Lights, camera, community! Sunriver Stars Community Theater (SSCT) is rolling out the red carpet for its first-ever Vintage Hollywood Gala, taking place Saturday, January 23, 2027, at Crosswater in Sunriver, Oregon.

Inspired by the glamour and excitement of Hollywood’s golden era and the Roaring Twenties, this special evening promises elegant dining, entertainment, a fundraising auction, and an opportunity for the Central Oregon community to celebrate 15 seasons of local theater.

More than an evening of glitz and glamour, the inaugural gala represents an important milestone for the nonprofit organization as it looks toward an exciting new chapter: expanding its artistic opportunities, strengthening community partnerships, and working toward a permanent home for the Sunriver Stars.

Fifteen Seasons of Bringing Theater to Life

Since its founding in 2012, Sunriver Stars Community Theater has brought live theatrical productions to Sunriver and surrounding Central Oregon communities. Powered entirely by volunteers, the nonprofit has created opportunities for performers, directors, production crews, and audiences to experience the magic of live theater close to home.

Now entering its 15th season, the organization is celebrating not only its history but also the people, volunteers, supporters, and community members who have made its success possible.

The gala will highlight the theater’s journey, its commitment to accessible community arts, and its ambitions for the years ahead.

A Vision for a Permanent Home

A central focus of the evening will be the theater’s vision for a dedicated performance space that can serve as a lasting home for Sunriver Stars Community Theater.

The organization is pursuing this vision alongside its developing long-term partnership with the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory, creating opportunities to explore how two valued community organizations can strengthen their contributions to the region.

Funds raised during the gala will help support upcoming theatrical productions, lighting, essential production materials, and the theater’s longer-term facility aspirations.

A permanent home would provide a foundation for future performances, expanded community participation, and continued artistic growth for generations of Central Oregon residents.

An Evening of Vintage Hollywood Glamour

Guests are invited to dress in their finest vintage Hollywood attire, channeling the sophistication of the 1920s, from glamorous gowns and elegant suits to classic Hollywood-inspired fashions.

The gala will feature a chef-prepared dinner, entertainment, and a special fundraising auction offering an array of experiences and travel opportunities.

Auction highlights are expected to include getaway stays in Hawaii, California, Washington, and Arizona, including a Cave Creek getaway.

Throughout the evening, guests will have opportunities to learn about the people behind Sunriver Stars, celebrate the theater’s accomplishments, and contribute directly to its future.

Whether guests are longtime theater supporters, local business leaders, arts enthusiasts, or simply looking for a memorable evening in support of a meaningful cause, the Vintage Hollywood Gala offers an opportunity to come together in celebration of the performing arts.

Community Support Makes the Difference

As a volunteer-driven nonprofit, Sunriver Stars Community Theater depends on the generosity of donors, sponsors, ticket purchasers, and community partners to continue presenting live performances.

The inaugural gala provides an opportunity for individuals and businesses throughout Central Oregon to invest in the future of local performing arts while celebrating the theater’s remarkable 15-season journey.

Every ticket purchased and every contribution helps bring the dream of a permanent home for the Sunriver Stars closer to reality.
