The Laramie Project dramatizes the aftermath of the brutal 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay college student, who was beaten ab oned on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. Fifteen RHS student actors will portray over 80 Laramie citizensordinary
people thrust in the eye of a media storm, struggling to underst how their hometown became the epicenter of what many would call a hate crime. The play portrays the profound impact of Matthew’s death on Laramie the nation; ultimately, it celebrates the triumph of compassion over bigotry violence.
