High Desert Community Radio is celebrating its 8th birthday with a special event on June 14 at the Old Stone Church.
This special event features Beatle songs performed by the local bands All You All, The Rock Hounds, David Bowers, The Rum and the Sea, Los Ratones, Gospel Choir of the Cascades and Tuesday Morning String Band.
Audience participation is strongly encouraged. It is open to all ages, times are from 7-10pm. Tickets are available on-line at www.kpov.org and at the KPOV station, 501 NW Bond St.
Food and refreshments will be available, including beer from Three Creeks Brewery and wines from Volcano Vineyards. A silent auction will feature donated items from local businesses plus a raffle has a prize of a locally handmade tenor ukulele from Badley Made Ukes.
The evening’s festivities will include a costume contest with locals dressed as a Beatle or in period clothing and a Beatles trivia competition.
Advance tickets are $10 for members and $12 for general admission. At the door, tickets are $15 and children $5.
