The Artery, Bring Your Own Art (BYOA) Teams up with Last Saturday

ArteryPicture a bike shop transformed into a free style gallery space. On a wall where bike parts once resided canvases and frames of acrylic, pastel and print now hang. Imagine a meeting of artists showing pieces of all mediums, finished and unfinished, where dialogue, community support and inclusivity are imperatives. The bike shop is The Crankery, and the event is The Artery, Bring Your Own Art (BYOA) Show and Potluck held every last Wednesday (except September when they are partnering with Last Saturday). September 27 The Artery teams up with Last Saturday at Armature in the Old IronWorks District. by Krystal Marie Collins

Brain child of August Cary, owner and operator of The Crankery, The Artrey was born of equal parts interest in using his business for the good of the community, a rich background in all things creative, and a similar event in his home town of Bozman, Montana.

After obtaining a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Montana State University in both Graphic Design and Photography, Cary opened the bike shop in March 2013 and held the inaugural Artery in April 2014. Cary calls artist to participate saying “the goal of The Artery is bringing together and promoting local, less established or growing creatives.”

Armature will host The Artery during their Last Saturday and submissions details for the show are available via The Crankery’s facebook page or 541-550-7233.
