Our October series of free community performances begins this Saturday with acclaimed flutist Timothy Hagen and Central Oregon pianist Gary Ruppert. Join us for a morning masterclass, an evening recital—or both!

Praised for his technical virtuosity, musical sensitivity, and flair, Timothy Hagen is Principal Flute of the Missouri Symphony and has performed with ensembles including the Minnesota Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and Grant Park Orchestra. He is also Assistant Professor of Flute and Coordinator of Woodwinds at Central Washington University, as well as an award-winning composer, published scholar, conductor, and instructor for the online conservatory tonebase.

Joining Hagen is Gary Ruppert, a classical and jazz pianist who has performed and taught in Oregon for more than 45 years. His wide-ranging career includes orchestral appearances, musical theater, choral directing, jazz performance, and arts administration. A former president of the Oregon Music Teachers Association, Ruppert has devoted his career to helping audiences deepen their understanding and appreciation of music.
