This December, the 75th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, drama students at Redmond High School step into the hearts and minds of the people who experienced the abrupt plunge into war. A Pearl Harbor Christmas depicts how the home front responded to the news that Japan had decimated the US Pacific Fleet.

xmaspearlharborA Pearl Harbor Christmas showcases big band swing favorites like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree” and “You’re a Lucky Guy.” The radio variety show features the torch song “Stormy Weather” and that touchstone of wartime hope, “The White Cliffs of Dover.” Live sound effects and period advertising bring us back to a time when doctors chatted up the health benefits of cigarettes and beauticians used Listerine to control dandruff.
