High Desert Chamber Music is pleased to announce the students selected for this year’s Spotlight Chamber Players program: Elizabeth Cape (piano), Peyton Cape (cello), Parker Carlson (violin), Ezra Oncken (violin), Harper Renfroe (piano), and Samuel Weed (cello). HDCM Spotlight Chamber Players and all Educational Outreach programs are sponsored by the Brooks Resources Corporation.
Since 2008, Spotlight Chamber Players has provided young musicians throughout Central Oregon with the opportunity to experience the unique rewards of chamber music performance-this program is dedicated exclusively to developing these essential skills though the study and performance of chamber music.
“One of my favorite things about the Spotlight Chamber Players is watching students discover what they can accomplish together through music,” says HDCM Founder and Executive Director Isabelle Senger. “Seeing them learn to trust each other and find their place within an ensemble over the course of the year is one of the most rewarding parts of this program.”
Auditions are held annually, and this year’s students come from the private teaching studios of Jay Bednorz (Cascade School of Music), Peter Brownlee, Kara Eubanks (Willamette Violin Academy), Suzanne Gainey, and Lenore Gilbert. The members, aged 12 to 17, attend local schools including Trinity Lutheran School, Redmond Proficiency Academy, Cascades Academy, Mountain View High School, and Caldera High School.
High Desert Chamber Music’s mission is to bring exceptional chamber music and musicians to Central Oregon. Since 2008, HDCM has presented acclaimed concerts featuring distinguished artists from around the world while providing free educational outreach that connects professional musicians with students throughout the region. Join us for our nineteenth season and experience the artistry, energy, and connection of live chamber music. Come hear the music!
