Innovation Theatre Works Sets New Season

After three years of producing individual shows at the Tower Theatre at its home on SW Division Street, Innovation Theatre Works has put together its first full season of shows.  And they are also announcing a slight change in its operating model.  Up till now, ITW has been Central Oregon’s first only professional theatrical organization.  However, they are exp ing their vision to include semi-professional, cabaret, community educational productions.  
“We are doing this in an effort to generate much more programming make our wonderful facility more accessible to the community as a whole,” says Brad Hills, executive artistic director
of ITW. “Our new season reflects this shift through a combination of productions that will mix community with professional, but still provide the same excellence our patrons have come to expect.”

On the MainStage
•Hard Times by Studs Terkel – thru October 9. What it means to live, survive triumph through one of the bleakest chapters in our nation’s history comes to life through the true stories of the characters interviewed by Studs Terkel for Hard Times.
•A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote November 26-December 18. This loving memory of childhood by one of our nation’s most celebrated authors is retold for us by one of Central Oregon’s Bob Shaw.
•Frankie & Johnny In The Clair de Lune by Terrence McNally:  January, 2012 (dates tba) How do we find love each other is the question posed by this eloquent startlingly real play by one of our keenest observers of what it means to be human.
•Waiting For Godot by Samuel Beckett – March/April 2012 (dates tba) Possibly the most famous most intensely examined play of the modern theatre, Godot will make you laugh, cry, scratch your head talk for weeks to come.
•She Loves Me book by Joe Masteroff, Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, Music by Jerry Bock
June 2012 (dates tba) One of the most translated, repeated copied stories of film stage is never more beautifully told than in this stunning creation.  A melt-in-your-mouth confection that will have you shouting for joy.

•The Monsters are Due on Maple Street by Rod Serling – October 20-November 5. One of the most famous most terrifying episodes of “The Twilight Zone” comes to life just in time for Halloween.
•The Santal Diaries by David Sedaris – November 29-December 22. This hilarious play recounts Mr. Sedaris’ true experience as one of Santa’s Elves at Macy’s in New York City. 
•The Angels of Lemnos by Jim Henry – February/March 2012 (dates tba)  Henry is one of the best new writers in the American Theatre this play is a lyrical, magical masterpiece that will make you gasp as he takes you on an unforgettable journey through a part of America we seldom see.
•Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You by Christopher Durang: May 2012 (dates tba) Enlightenment as can only be doled out through the outrageous mind of Christopher Durang.
