Maiden Bend Music Fest Empowers Local Female Musicians at Tower

Celebrate the arrival of fall at the Tower Theatre on November 11, 7-9:30pm by experiencing the diverse musical talents of Central Oregon’s finest female singer – songwriter musicians.
Performers include Abigail Nyman, Anastacia Beth-Scott, Caitlin Cardier, Erin Cole-Baker, Janelle Johnson Lisa C Pollock, with a special dance segment by Gotta Dance.
Nyman, born raised in Central Oregon, is quickly gaining attention as a musician, singer / songwriter whose star is on the rise. She is the youngest artist to have achieved first place in the Central Oregon Songwriters Association song of the year competition for the pop genre. Abigail’s debut CD, Let Loose, is due to be released early in 2012.
Anastacia always knew her life would revolve around music. Her father, Joe Leonardi, was a touring bass player for a Country Rock b in the late ‘60s ‘70s. And at the age of nine, Anastacia found her first guitar, beat-up leaning against a trash can, on the beach of her home town, Huntington Beach, California. In July 2009, Anastacia completed her first solo CD with her title track song, Grains of S , won an all-expense-paid music video contest from FFE Films.
“Dreamers that is what we are” a phrase coined by Caitlin Cardier is more than a slogan but a lifestyle. Achieving her dreams has, from an early age, been a focus. Caitlin has been heavily influenced by Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Whitney Houston, Heavy D, SWV En Vogue. Recently opening the Ladies Night Out Concert Series for nineties superstars Jon B., Al b. Sure, SWV (Sisters with Voices) Bell Biv Devoe, she has now begun to pursue accomplishing her dreams at a fast pace.
In Whangarei, New Zeal , at the age of five, 1986 saw Erin Cole-Baker born into the world of music via classical piano a family steeped in musical talent. In 2005 The United States called to her as the place to begin her dream of building a career in music she came ashore eager to sing that dream into existence. With the completion of two CD’s – Talon Spur the more recent Big Sky – Erin’s musical stories continue to warm listener’s hearts minds.
Born in Portl in 1992, Johnson her family moved to Sister’s when she reached “school age.” She began performing in talent contests at age 7 became serious about songwriting when she was in sixth grade. Coinciding with her love for music, Johnson has sought extensive dance training, including ballet, tap, jazz hip hop. Her musical influences include Alicia Keyes, Mary J Blige, Usher, many of Motown’s legendary artists. She sees herself gravitating toward developing her own R&B/Soul sound when asked how she views herself as an evolving artist.
Lisa C Pollock wrote her first song at age five, won her first songwriting contest at fifteen, performed at New York City’s Carnegie Hall by sixteen. At eighteen, Lisa C. moved to San Diego California. She settled in quickly took the “Coffee House Circuit” by storm. She joined forces with Thomas Lee to form the b Taylor Street. Lisa C. released her solo album All that Remains in 2005.   Lisa C. wrote her songs that won her awards such as; the COSA Song of the year 1998 2006 The San Diego Songwriters Guild award 2005. Pollock’s video for her song All That Remains was chosen for The KLOS 95.5 FM Mark Brian Show’s Top LA B s contest.
