The Sisters Folk Festival (SFF) has always been about discovery. We pride ourselves on booking a lineup that thrives at the intersection of the familiar and the unexpected for a musical adventure unlike any other.

At SFF, you’ll find classic folk acts, singer-songwriters, an Irish trad band, and, without fail, a few artists you can’t quite pin down. Artists who defy easy categorization and refuse to fit neatly into a box. They’re the boundary-pushers and unexpected gems who might make you rethink what “folk” really means.

After cultivating her dynamic voice and performance skills in backup roles and stage plays, Joslyn Hampton composed a captivating set of tunes and assembled an ace band to take with her on tour. Joslyn & The Sweet Compression deliver a hook-filled mix of funk and soul on their self-titled debut album, released in 2019, and on their sophomore album, “Bona Fide.”

Banshee Tree is an indie psychedelic pop/rock group known for sharply written songs, jazz-inspired guitar solos, rich saxophone textures, and dance-floor grooves. Spending nearly a decade evolving onstage through dynamic residencies and diverse festival circuits — spanning EDM, dubstep, and bluegrass — the band effortlessly blends acoustic roots with electric energy. Their dynamic evolution reached a high-water mark with “Bad Luck,” a restless, unapologetically diverse album that showcases a celebrated group fearlessly expanding into new horizons.

Hailing from Asheville, NC, Toubab Krewe blends West African traditions, rock, and global folk influences into their own unique sound. The acclaimed instrumental powerhouse has built a devoted following through adventurous, border-crossing pursuits and electrifying festival performances worldwide.
